What it does

QR & Barcode Scanner Maker (QR Works) is a fast, privacy-minded scanner and maker for QR codes and common barcodes on iPhone, iPad, and Android. There is no account and no sign-in. History stays on your device.

Features

Scan

Point your camera at a code. Also reads EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, ITF, PDF417, Data Matrix and Aztec. Smart actions open links, call, send SMS or email, open a location in Maps, or copy Wi-Fi details.

Nine code types

Website link, text, Wi-Fi, contact (vCard), email, SMS, phone number, location, and barcode (Code 128, EAN-13, PDF417, Aztec), each with a live preview.

Wi-Fi codes

Pick a network from a list and optionally remember passwords you have entered. Saved passwords stay in encrypted on-device storage.

Contacts and locations

Fill the contact form or choose someone from your contacts. For locations, pick a point on a map, search an address, or paste coordinates.

Save and share

Save the finished code as a PNG or share it. Previews are always black on white so they scan reliably. Paste from the clipboard into any text field.

History

Separate Scans and Created lists with search. Delete single items or clear everything in Settings. Stored on your device only.

  • Android: nearby Wi-Fi network picker, OpenStreetMap map picker for locations, optional SMS import, and Material You dynamic colour.

Pricing

Every scanning and creation feature is free. Small banner ads appear on Create and History only, never on Scan, Settings, or the Tip Jar. Leave a one-time tip in the Tip Jar to say thanks: Coffee $0.99, Cake $2.99, Lunch $4.99, or Feast $9.99. Any tip removes ads for good. No subscription. Use Restore purchases on a new device with the same Apple ID or Google account.

Privacy at a glance

  • No account, no backend, no analytics SDKs.
  • History and saved Wi-Fi passwords stay on your device.
  • Camera is used only while scanning. Photos, contacts and location are used only when you choose them.
